Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that is spreading from person to person in parts of the United States. The virus has been classified as a global pandemic and has greatly impacted people’s ability to work, travel, see loved ones, access services, and go about life as normal. The situation changes daily and we want to ensure we keep those in Austin and surrounding cities safe and informed.
At this time, social distancing is key. The CDC defines social distancing as it applies to COVID-19 as “remaining out of congregrate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible.” This means – no hugs, no handshakes!
